About the Client and their requirements
The main goal of ISKCON is to change one’s material, self-centered identity into a spiritual identity of unwavering love. ISCKON Chennai, our client, with a great number of followers has been spreading the word of the Lord for a number of years.
When the pandemic hit in 2019 and the lockdown had begun, they wanted to develop an application that would help the devotees study the Gita at home. Thus, the idea of Study Gita originated and since we have professional experience in developing similar Learning Management Systems, they contacted us.
They wanted us to develop a highly insightful LMS that provides a simplified and thematic study of the Bhagavad Gita. The primary requirement was English, Hindi, and Tamil language support, live classes and workshops, quiz for self-evaluation, feedback reports, certification, etc.
Solutions we offered to the Client
The client was quite clear about what they needed, and after fully comprehending their requirements, our business team created an SRS document. The document was to provide the client with an understanding of the structure and features of the mobile app.
Subsequent to this, our development team researched and implemented the best solution. The app supports three languages and courses are available in English, Hindi, and Tamil. Video courses are divided into sessions. The Users can also enroll themselves in live classes and workshops in the app. Study Gita offers certified courses and is integrated with interesting quizzes and progress reports for self-evaluation.

Challenges faced
We have been developing Learning Management Systems for our own use as well as for clients since the beginning of our careers and understand that challenges are expected. Study Gita was an exciting project that provided many challenges and allowed the team to grow professionally.
Study Gita is an application developed during the lockdown to simplify the transition from offline to online mode. All temple events, offerings, and workshops had to be completed online. Because ISKCON has a large number of devotees and activities cannot be halted, the project had to be completed in a short period of time, and in a very short span, we had to expand our capacities and capabilities to accommodate approximately 15,000 users.
One of the primary issues we encountered was concurrency during login and courses, as multiple users were logging in simultaneously. Another difficulty we encountered was communication between Temple authorities and the Temple’s thousands of devotees. Every event, workshop, course, and so on had to be notified. Also, live streaming of events to thousands of viewers was a task.
Key Features of the Project

- The user interface is designed for devotees and provides a user-friendly experience.
- The app supports multiple languages. Users can choose and switch between different languages.
