The Internet of Things preaches the gospel of devices communicating-most of the time in real-time-across large networks. One lightweight and efficient communication protocol that makes this form of communication possible is MQTT. MQTT is a lightweight publish-subscribe messaging protocol, constrained device, and low-bandwidth and high-latency network designed. This feature makes it ideal for use in IoT scenarios. In this blog, we will take a deep dive into MQTT and its pros and cons within IoT, but also a selection of real-world use cases from our projects where MQTT played a crucial role.
